Historical Perspective

I have been listening to a series of podcasts by a gentleman named Dan Carlin called Hardcore History. Dan had a subset of podcasts about which I speak is called "Ghosts of the Ostfront" - all about World War II on the Eastern Front. The Front with Russia. Dan put together a four part narrative, discussing in great detail, the little known story of the Eastern Front.

-->Hardcore History Show 27 - Ghosts of the Ostfront I

-->Hardcore History Show 28 - Ghosts of the Ostfront II

-->Hardcore History Show 29 - Ghosts of the Ostfront III

-->Hardcore History Show 30 - Ghosts of the Ostfront IV

As I was listening to this podcast series - and it was spread out over, maybe six months (just look at the reading list and references for the episodes and that will give you an idea of what Dan had to do to put together the podcasts), I came upon a YouTube video of a winner of the talent contest "Ukraine's Got Talent" - a lady named Kseniya Simonova, who did a sand animation performance with music that showed scenes of World War II on the Ostfront - the very brutal story that was being covered in the podcasts that Dan had put out. And the audience had tears - 60 years later the pain and hurt was still raw.
